Ok, I know the subject sounds weird, but i was watching M*A*S*H the other day, and on it it had a wounded pianist who injured his right hand. One of the doctors sent away for a few pieces by a classical composer that were composed for the left hand alone. I think the composer was Ravel, if anyone knows the name of the pieces I would greatly appreciate it, as I need this information for a project at school.

Thanks

Hello there,

Yes, I saw that episode of M*A*S*H too. It inspired me to learn some music of One hand (Just in case!)

Here is a link that might be of use.

(I believe the Ravel Piece was his Concerto in D Major.)

Good luck

I have just broken my right hand and will go mad at the prospect of not being able to play the piano for at least four weeks. Does anyone know of sheet music on the internet for the left hand, classical or otherwise?

Ravel, Prokofiev (4th), and Hindemith (a recently discovered piece) wrote concertos for the left hand, one each.

I believe Scriabin and some other composers I couldn`t remember wrote solo left-hand piano music.

I believe Ravel`s piece was his Left Hand Concerto ( Concerto pour la main gauche).

Hope that helps! God bless!

Bach`s Chaconne in D minor from his second violin partita in D minor was arranged for left-hand piano by Brahms, and it can be found if you go to www.bh2000.net/score along with some others, also www.sheetmusicarchive.net mey have some left-hand piano music. Scriabin wrote some etudes for left-hand piano that aren`t too tough, and Janacek wrote a capriccio for chamber ensemble and left-hand piano, if you have a chamber ensemblereadily available. The Ravel D major, Prokofiev Op. 53 B flat, the Hindemith and the Strauss (Richard) left-hand concerti are very, very tough. If I helped pleaseemailme!
