Trust me...I`m not a classical freak.ilove pop and alternative,but i like classical because it can make you relax.How it makes you relax is you don`t have to worry about trying to understand what the artists are saying.Plus classical makes you smarter by trying to listen to the different instruments and different beats.I don`t really know if classical helps you grow smart while middle aged...let`s hope so :P

I know how ya feel. I love new popular music...but the more I listen to that the more I get sick of it. Listening to classical music is like a relief to the mind-finally something new to listen to. I play piano pretty well. Someday I`m gonna make it into Juilliard. Hopefully soon. Write back if you can!

I think I`m just like you in that respect... but classical music isn`t that popular among teenagers like me (actually, it isn`t really popular at all!...at least not in my country) so whenever people ask me what kind of music I like I often tend to omit classical music (or push it in almost inaudibly at the end of the sentence)

Even i try to pay heed to classical,now its in a new style,I saw software,kazaa,carrying files particularly on classi. music.,just need to download for anything.

I read all of the responses to classical music here and alot of them seem to make classical a bit misunderstood. It shouldn`t be liked for being the "new beat" or something besides the stuff that`s out. It should be liked for what it is. If you listen hard, you can hear stories unfold (you need a little imagination, of course) and you can see places that inspire you. Be creative. Listen to the instruments and listen from the heart. The experience will be much more gratifying. Also, don`t be embarassed to like classical. It`s awesome music and more people should listen to it. Let that be known, stand up for your likes and tell the positive side. Try to get others interested. Play the music as well, learn to follow it. I`ve always liked classical and bieng a muslim I don`t even listen to the modern music that has no meaning whatsoever. My favorite is Tchaikovskey, I love listning to the Nutcracker. I also like The Magic Flute by Mozart (esp Papagino) I`m currently trying to play the recorder and piano and I`d like to keep up a coresspondence between all ppl who like the classical.

La música clásica es fantástica, no es lo mismo oirla que tocarla, cuando uno la toca se siente de otra manera. Por ello animmo a que la gente aprenda a tocar instrumentos.
