Sonata - Musical Definition
Sonata - A sonata is a musical composition typically for one or two instruments, consisting of several movements with at least one movement in sonata form (a form which usually includes an exposition, development, and recapitulation). A typical sonata will be for piano or for a solo instrument with piano accompaniment, showcasing contrasting themes and expressive character throughout its movements.
