Duet for 2 Contrabass. This is written for intermediate level players, and does require some work in upper positions. The upper part is written for a high-school level (or good junior high school level) performer. the lower part is easier. It is written in D-Dorian to give youth the opportunity to learn the sounds of older church modes; this gives it a spooky or sneaky sound. I encourage youth to imagine a day in the life of a secret detective and all he might be doing as they play through each section of this piece. The MP3 file created by Finale gets confused between pizz and arco at the end, but at least it gives an idea of what the piece can sound like.
