This is a piece written for a small woodwind group, comprised preferably of two clarinets, two flutes, and a bass clarinet.
Although this is technically not for a wind ensemble, that is the most accurate description.
It is intended to be played at a moderate pace, and have an air of the freshness that supposedly comes with a new day - hence 'Morning Lullaby'.
