This is an 18th century trio sonata for flute, violon and continuo. It was written by Sylvius Leopold Weiss, who is, in my opinion, a most unjustly neglected composer... probably because he composed mainly for the lute in an age when the lute was already considered almost an obsolete instrument. This is a rare surviving piece by Weiss which is not for lute. It has a distinctly 'early classical' feel. If you like, why not check out more of Weiss's music?
