I play the piano, clarinet, organ, recorder, and the violin. As my third course, i`ll be taking up Bachelor of Music Major in Violin in University of Sto. Tomas Music Conservatory Manila. Being an advanced pianist and voice major, why the violin??? I dont know. I fell in love with it four years ago and will be for the rest of my life. Of all my instruments, I love the violin most, I somehow had built up a bond with it. I want you to meet Beulah, my violin, featured profile picture. She`s a bird`s eye maple violin. The rarest kind of maple wood violin. Out of 3,000 maple trees only 1 bird`s eye maple will come up. Bird`s eye wood is an abnormality in maple trees. So Beulah is a rare kind so i take good care of her. She`s very dear. I bought her from Shu-Mei Zhang, violin maker in Beijing. Quite expensive but i don`t care about the price. When I saw her, it`s like love at first sight. Shu-Mei Zhang`s violins are really good because of its reputation: the wood is over at least 30 years old and the tonal quality is rich and alive. My violin is a soloist model. Putting all the good stuff aside, I simply say I love my violin and would grow old with it.
I`m a teacher more than a performer. I love sharing what I know. I don`t withold anything that anyone deserves to learn. I try to help kids, teenagers and older people live out their dreams in music! Anyone can learn any instrument he/she chooses so long as he has the right attitude and is determined enough to withstand any obstacle he/she might encounter.
