I go by my pseudonym, James Dowdy Moose, which was bestowed upon me with the help of an Indian name generator. I am fourteen years old (fifteen this December). Sure, I am young, but I am musically sophisticated, compared to most fourteen-year-olds. It is no mystery that I am a male. My ancestry is very hybrid, consisting of a Trans-European Jewish family on my father`s side, and a South East Asian, Buddhist-Muslim family on my mother`s side. I am semi-fluent in German, so if anyone speaks/writes German, feel free to use it. I have plans to pursue multilingualism, mainly in Germanic languages (i.e. Icelandic, Norwegian, Yiddish, Afrikaans), as well as Hebrew, Arabic and Malay..., and possibly Mandarin Chinese and Greek.
My Interests section does not seem to work when I try to edit it, and an error keeps showing up. So I shall put my interests here:
Music, of course, which is why I joined in the first place. I love learning about music theory and musical instruments, but more importantly, I love to listen to an play music. The guitar (soprano and bass) is my main instrument, and my secondary instrument is the oboe. I used to play alto sax and hope to continue someday on any sax. Notoriously, I am known by my friends to have a passionate desire to learn the sarrusophone and/or rothphone--little difference. I own a pair of recorders (one alto, one soprano), and I am teaching myself the basics and fluency in the higher register. In addition, I have experience with playing mallet instruments (i.e. glockenspiel, xylophone, marimba, etc...) and a few other percussion instruments; sometimes I tinkle around on the piano too.
I listen to a wide variety of music--classical, world/folk, jazz of almost any kind (I am not a purist), blues, rock `n` roll, disco, `60s and `70s pop, heavy metal (which I am a bit picky on), and some Euro pop (which I am also picky on).
Outside of music, I love to read and watch movies (,which many may consider boring, such as Lawrence of Arabia). Traveling is also something I enjoy. I like learning about linguistics, grammar and etymology, as well as science (mainly zoology) and history (from numerous sources to get the different points of view). Mythology is also something I find interesting (especially Greek and Norse).
