About Me
My name is Mary. I live in Dublin and I am currently studying music in school. I love music and love playing wind instruments and singing. My main instrument is flute because it has a beautiful sound. I love loads of different music-jazzy, pop, classical, ethnic-and if there's any music not in those catorgories, I like it to. I believe that all music has certain qualities and that it`s pointless to compare the types. I don`t agree with people saying that pop musics rubbish or classical is boring-because that closed minded. If we actually let the music take our soul-you should never be bored.Music and art are imortal. There are gifts that can`t really be taught as everybody have them-even if they are not as good as somebody elses. We learn business, maths and History at school but in the end they don`t teach us about ourselves. Music and art let us create a reality not governed by time, physics or science. They are the gifts we should cherish most.
Interests
As I said, I like every tiype of music. Some of my favourtie artists have to be Hans Zimmer, Enya and Clannad. I do like pop singers such as Christina Aguilera as I respect that she has an amazing voice however I find some of her music to be commercial. I do like some rock and I like the band My Chemical Romance but I by no means a die-hard follower. I appreciate classical music and my favourite composer is Beethoven. I like country as well, but I'm not mad. My favourtie country singer would be Eva Cassidy as I think her music is inspiring and beautiful on many levels. I like ethnic music and music from around the globe. I like Irish music as well and Clannad are a brilliant Irish group that I find are similar to Enya.
