The Double Appoggiatura (German Doppelvorschlag, Anschlag.)

The double appoggiatura consists of two notes in small type, the time of which is taken from the principal note, before which they are written; the distance of the first of the two notes from the principal note is not restricted, but the second note is normally one degree above, or below it.
