Part of the charm of this opening chord progression from Scissor Sisters (Scisor? Sissor? Scisser?) 'Mary' is
the use of a minor chord on the 5th or dominant of the scale.
This is a chord which is usually major (here it would be F# major with an A# instead of an A natural). It's a subtle little surprise, especially
as we've just heard the A# as part of the previous Bmaj7 chord.
Many people have noted the likeness to Elton John in the Scissor Sisters' sound, and it is no surprise that there are rumours of a future collaboration in the offing.
Lyrics
I love the tone that's in your laugh Gasping for an extra breath Waiting for the time to pass I believe in day...
