Start by repeating an octave in a three note pattern like this:
The try rocking back and two between the top C and B, but keeping the low note on a C:
Finally, progress down from the B to notes G and E - the important fifth and third of the scale of C.
Notice in all these how the rhythm of three semiquavers goes against, or overlaps the quarter-note beat.
