Now that we are familiar with the look of the notes on the staff, let's practice reading them! Here's a short piece using the first three strings:





Once you are familiar with the sound of this example, pick up your guitar and play along. Try to keep your eyes on the music instead of looking at your hand. Your right hand has to learn to feel where the different strings are because you can't always be looking at them while you play.

We are now ready to start working with our left hand!
